This is a great opportunity for proven Commercial Manager to take over the management of our Areas 6 & 8 contract.
Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will play a key role in partnering with Highways England to ensure the quality delivery of our commercial & procurement responsibilities on the Areas 6 & 8 contract. Using your commercial expertise, you will be responsible for managing the dedicated commercial team acting as a source of authoritative advice on contract administration, cost capture and analysis to improve performance across a number of high value infrastructure schemes. The successful candidate will have a strong commercial background with proven knowledge of highways improvement projects and have the ability to make a tangible difference to how our client relationship develops.
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for;
Providing monthly commercial reports
Liaising with the client on commercial and contractual matters
Managing performance and development of the commercial team
Using cost capture, analysis and interpretation to drive continuous improvement
Ensuring robust processes, tools and governance arrangements are in place to enable consistent and compliant commercial performance
Holding suppliers to account to deliver their scope of service, including forecasting and cost management
Supporting the team in final accounting with the client and supply chain partners
Challenging the operational teams on their monthly results
Supporting the Divisional Manager on the development and maintenance of the contract Risk and Opportunity Register
The successful candidate will have;
Proven experience of managing high volume highway or civil projects
Proven experience of managing overall commercial performance and the commercial team
Consistency in commercial processes, reporting and subcontract management
Relevant qualifications (ie) Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
Experience of tendering and procurement using NEC forms of contract
Proficient in MS Office including MS Project and the use of similar systems to SAP
Hold a full UK Driver’s Licence
